Teaching Statement
I believe that teaching dance is about cultivating both discipline and imagination, helping students discover strength, artistry, and confidence in their own unique movement voices. The teachers who shaped me most created structure and clarity while also encouraging curiosity and individuality, and I carry those same values into my own classroom. My background in choreography, performance, and competition taught me the value of adaptability, creativity, and collaboration; qualities that I believe are essential to effective teaching.

In my classes, I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel safe to take risks, explore discomfort in productive ways, and celebrate progress at their own pace. My belief is that when dancers feel valued and supported at their current level, they become more open to growth, resilience, and discovery. Ultimately, I aim to guide students not only toward technical strength but toward developing their own artistic voices, empowering them to carry lessons of discipline, adaptability, and creative expression beyond the studio.
